January 22, 2008 was the 36th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. Since that time it is estimated that over 40 million babies have been victims of the horrific death of abortion. We as a nation have permitted this violation of the sanctity of life.
Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 will mark the 36th year since Roe vs. Wade. Since January 22, 1973, over 40 million babies have been victims of the horrific death of abortion. As a nation we have permitted this violation of life.
It was hoped that with the capture of Saddam Hussein, terrorism would be lessened. How about terrorism in the womb? In the U.S. alone, 4,000 babies are aborted each day. Let us accept our responsibility to defend our little unborn brothers and sisters in their mothers' wombs.
Pope John Paul II has said, "America, defend life so that you may live in peace and harmony. Woe to you if you do not succeed in defending life."
Litany for the Unborn
We pray to Jesus
That unborn children may have the gift of life,
Suffering Christ hear us.
That laws be passed to protect
the right to life of the unborn,
Suffering Christ hear us.
That our nation return to reverence
and respect for all life,
Suffering Christ hear us.
That God answer the prayers of those women
who seek the gift of motherhood,
Suffering Christ hear us.
That mothers who are unable to keep their babies choose the gift of adoption, and give others the chance to share the gift of love,
Suffering Christ hear us.
